Generational and age decay causes some phasing in this source. The upfront and unique quality of this
recording justifies circulation even with the aformentioned inconsistencies. Hopefully this master will surface.

"I first heard this tape in the Fall of 1978 during my freshman year of college. I owned Blues for Allah and Wake
of the Flood, but had never heard a grateful Dead bootleg. This FOB was my bus ticket, plain and simple. The energy
of the crowd on this recording is what hooked me.
I received my copy of this tape from a friend who knew the taper's. At best my copy is a 2nd gen cassette, I recall
being told the taper's were 10th row center. To my ear this recording sounds like it was made closer to the stage
than the Glassberg MOTB version (an excellent recording), perhaps you'll agree.
Ultimately I wish for two things- first that you enjoy this recording as much as I have over these many years; and
secondly, that a lower generation (MAC?) comes to light. FWIW- the taper's lived in/near Syosset, NY.
Many thanks to **__** and his cohorts for preparing this for circulation. I had asked for a transfer for my own
listening, I am happy that this was deemed worthy enough for everyone to enjoy. -US_Blues"
