Here's a fine set by The Black Crowes as they started to go free-form, both musically and philosphically, on the "High As The Moon" tour in support of "The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion". I had seen hints of the musical exploration the band was adopting previously but the '92 tour is when they really jumped in with both feet. I'm sure a big reason was this first tour with Marc Ford and the improvisational, soulful style of playing he brought to the band. This is also one of only 9 US shows (according to Crowesbase) where you get a performance of "Bewildered" so this one is a bit of a rarity. Chris was still a bit combative with anyone wielding any kind of authority in the venue - police, security - but all in all was pretty well mannered. He let the big "Free Us - No Narcs" banner they unfurled near the end of the show do the talkin' for him. Y'all enjoy.
