Those downloading and burning the current circulation of Went may want
to consider the following shift in tracks to save a disc.
This only works if you have the edited version of the Disco Tent Jam
(about 17:00) that seems to be on some ftps.
Add "Disco Tent Jam" as d5t3 (after Loving Cup)
Move "Bouncing" to d6t1 (before Tweezer)
Disc 5 - 72:26
Disc 6 - 63:16
This shift retains set integrity AND puts the "Disco" in its proper
chronological place... everything on 8 instead of 9.

The sound is all over the place, with the higher frequencies going back and forth between the left and right channels. The cymbals sound especially weird. the bass sounds great, but the shifting of the higher frequencies is rather distracting.

The flanging effect that you seem to be describing was caused by the intense wind. If you've heard recordings of 9-21-99, some Gorge shows, Ventura, etc... it's the same thing.

On 3/26/17 the checksums for all the tracks for 8/16/97 are additionally available in the checksum labeled "8_16_97". This facilitates electronically sharing the original source tracks which occurred only on 8/16/97.
