I went for Jeff Beck and came out blown away by Vaughan. Beck's genius and its subtleties were almost lost in the cavernous space of MSG.
SRV steps up and not only does his guitar fill the space but so does his voice. His voice and guitar were a powerful two-pronged attack. He made me oay attention and afterwards I knew I had seen and heard the real deal.
Before I had the chance to see him again he was gone.

Tremendous Voodoo Chile.
We had blue seats and were lucky enough to have a nearby skybox that provided us with beer for the duration of the show. When the lights came on, my friend Mike is asked by another fan, "How come you still have a beer?" he replies in a dead pan voice, "I am a slow drinker." Furthest from the stage of any show out of 9 and last show seen.
RIP SRV
