A killer show all around! When's the last time they did Bird Song-> Comes A Time? hmmm. The 2nd set is an inferno of blistering mid 80's GD. I personally believe that this version of The Music Never Stopped, is possibly the greatest of all of the 1980's. Check-out the sweet ending jam in Morning Dew, it will blow your mind! All I could picture was the world ending, especially when Phil dropped the Bombs!!! The only downfall of the entire show is it's encore: Day Job, oh well! regardless, this is a must have show!

Persistent rain couldn't put a damper on this show! Music Never Stopped > Tom's Thumb (Phil singing! -then a novelty), sweet (as in lullaby) Bird Song > Comes a Time were highlights among many others.

i was on stage behind harry popick for the first set and despite the rain, this was one of my all time fave shows to have been at. talked with bob and jerry btween set break and even got a request played during the 2nd set. i found out later that youre not supposed to ask them to play a song, but it was a once inna lifetime event and they played it. we were drinking their beer and eating their food and it was GREAT. thanx bob for the TERRAPIN.

I seem to recal that Bill & Mickey drummed the rain out of the air . . . Certainly one of the best shows I ever had the pleasure of attending, cold rain and all.

Wow, I had SUCH a great time.... I was still such a newbie (1st show was at Hampton 84, next 3 were in Red Rocks, go figure!) and this was a day trip from NoVa where I was *still* growing up...

Traffic was terrible, was almost late, so sad.
PA Turnpike was just a nightmare.

Got there as the opening notes of Cold Rain were just getting started. I remember how much it rained! I danced my little heart off on the 50 yard line (or was I in the end zone? or did it matter???) and when the show was over I realized I had lost my shoes.

Sandals buried in the mud on a football field. A looong walk back to the bus over a gravel parking lot (cold, tender feet). What to do?

Expect a miracle! Go down to the field and walk to where you were (yeah, that perspective was *so* realistic!!!) and look down -- guess what? The corner of one sandal was just barely peeking out of the mud! Yep, I found my shoes; they were pretty gross but better than barefeet in gravel.

Hershey, PA reeks of chocolate. What a wonderful, comforting smell. It just added to a beautiful day in the cold rain & snow.

This was only my 5th show and I was no where near a "discriminating" DeadHead at this point, but I had the time of my life. Or one of the times of my life.

Went on tour soon after this for about 3 years, moved to SF and only went back to the east coast again once more (Fall 85 tour - ugh). Shows in CA were so much more mellow, happier, they felt like home.

Anyway, I hear it now & the show wasn't as great as it could have been. But I have never felt a Music Never Stopped in my soul like that before or since.

Hope you were there!
Glad I was....

This is one of those shows that stands out among the rest. from the short first set ending with 3 jerry tunes in a row to the rain and everything else that went on this day. It was just an astonishing show that went on under adversity and strangeness that can't really be explained.

From the echo of cold rain and snow (well I, Well I) to the fact that it stopped raining at almost the moment morning dew started this was a show to behold.
