This was the the first of 54 times with The Grateful Dead, The show was incredible. I had eaten LSD a couple of times befor. I however had no clue what I was in for. Excited, nervous, and getting ready for something that would change and guide my life up to this day. I was just out of high school, and was hanging out with my still best bud Tara. Tara's older brother took us along with a caravan of several other old timers. In their kind, don't have to say a word way, I learned what was cool and what was uncool in the Grateful Dead family. Here is what stands out in my mind from that first night. We were walking through the parking lot, and for some reason I noticed an extremly nice camera sitting on the trunk of this car. When we were done with the show four or five hours later, this camera was sitting in the same place with no one around, and in no danger of being molested. At that point I knew I was home. You gotta love deadheads they'll steal the beer out of your cooler but the cooler, now it's safe. GOD BLESS THE FREAKS.
