I met Janice Joplin at this festival. A group of us were standing outside the back gate and she drove up, looking for the performer's entrance. A couple of us ran up to Janice's car and pointed her in the right direction.

We had just enought time to tell her that we loved her and Big Brother before she pulled off. She had a little tiny car with two big dogs in the back.

Later, inside the festival, I got to enjoy her along with so many of the other great bands of the era.
