It's hard to remeber, I was only 15 1/2 at the time but I was on the 8th row center, and it was the first time I say Clapton I remember more personal stuff mostly, that wouldn't really interest anyone else, like my father's comment when giving me a ride there, and some of those you where seated near me, etc.. He obviously from the song list, stared out acoustic, and got a big cheer when grabbed his black strat. He also obviously had Evonne Eliman (spelling ?), singing and that fellow George ? on rythmn guitar. I saw clapton several times since then, including that Muscular Distrofy Benefit with Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck et. al. and another time with Mark Knofler, to mention a couple !
Oh yes, how could I forget ! Not that the following was a big turn on to me, in fact I thought it was kind of silly, yet Clapton did acknowledge his presence : During one of the jams in the later part, there was some guy in clown make-up, with a little child's plastic toy guitar pretending to jam along with them, and he eventually pulled an "early Pete Townsend", bashing it on the amps and throwing the pieces into the audience. Well, I ended up with most of the neck, which I did save as a souvenior, where it is exactly now I'm not sure, but I did have it sitting in a draw for a long time !
