I had heard about this band and really wanted to record them. I think this was the 1st time that I had seen a show at Palookaville and I wasn't that impressed by the venue. It's a shoebox-type hall with the stage at the narrow end and a bar at the rear. The ceiling is kind of low from what I remember. It gets really hot and stuffy inside. I remember a Ratdog show that I saw there that was incredibly stuffy inside. Poor ventilation. I remember thinking that I would have liked the band a whole lot better without DJ Logic. That seemed Logical to me! I drove to this show from SLO County and brought my friend Paul, a physical therapist, with me. He enjoyed the show a lot. I set up my Neumanns about 10 feet behind the other tapers, one of whom was another Neumann KM-140 taper. A lot of folks seem to have copies of his master on etree. I had just recently purchased a new Lunatec V2 and used it for this show only. I ended up trading it back to Sonic Sense in Colorado for a Tascam DA-P1. In the end, the Tascam was a lot more useful.
