These were pricey, but classy shows and like the 3 nights we saw the Dead at Radio City Music Hall in 1981 a rare opportunity where the rules were different.(when the Dead arrived by limo, Brent stopped and greeted a few fans with warm handshakes as we welcomed him to New York City)

It was 1987 and Broadway was an event planned well in advance, I was just out of college and now an engineer. My wonderful wife (now thankfully my ex-wife) and I dressed up to the max. I had my 3-piece suit and she wore a beautiful blue dress we bought for this occasion. Then we headed into Manhattan in style; hey it was Broadway!
Dinner was about $125 and worth it, tickets for the show over $100, but this was a serious event.

When I went to Dead shows I know sitting was not an expectation, but I recall one event at the Lunt Fontanne Theater that made me do something I didn't want to do.
When at a Broadway show there is an ediquite we are expected to follow. Bathroom breaks and snacks were during intermission and during the show we were supposed to sit down.
Those 4 girls in front of me had their own plans and after 3 attempts I had to call over the Usher. They were obviously not willing to "play by the rules" as I watched 3 ushers force them to the exit and threw them out. One usher came up to me later to apologize "for the distraction" and all I can say is those ejected patrons were were given several opportunities and they made the choice and were held accountable. As for me; others selfishness was not going to ruin that night. I looked around that night and will say that the rest of us were on our best behavior considering the venue.
