| Notes: | Tool May 18, 1994 Varsity Arena Toronto, ON, Canada Source: ECM909 > Unknown model portable DAT recorder > DAT(m) > Scotch XS II-S 90 CASS(1) Transfer: Yamaha KX-650 3-Motor/3-Head Closed Loop Dual Capstan Cassette Deck > Hosa Cables > EMU0404 > CEP2.1 (recording, cutting, no fx) > FLAC (level 8, verify enabled) Taper: Andymon Transfer: Five Setlist: 01. Intro 02. Cold and Ugly 03. Intolerance 04. Undertow 05. Sober 06. Prison Sex 07. Swamp Song 08. Sweat 09. 4° 10. Opiate 11. Flood encore 12. Bottom Notes: This is an excellent audience recording, however the venue itself sounds... like a hockey arena. Sourced from a cassette which was copied directly from the DAT(m). This transfer made 2006-03-20. The only circulating version I've found is from the same taper but with reversed channels, inverted phase, some delay & attenuation on the left channel and to top it all off suffers from audible lossy artifacts. This release is far superior. The DAT(m) is in the posession of a friend who has lost contact. If you are this person and happen to be reading this, please contact fffive@gmail.com to get back in touch. "There's certain people in the world called architects and when they build buildings - they make them for certain things. I don't think this thing was made for music; it was made for hockey. That's why they call those other places concert halls and theatres. But we will do the best we can. | Notes: | A bit of bass in the recording. Not to the posint of saturation at all. Seems more like the dynamic of the venue itself than any technical issues. It sounds like a big gymnasium & as a result there is an echo.
