First I remastered the audio a few months back, and then finally got my hands on a copy of the DVD to complete it. Since the video began with Sober, I included Tuva on the main menu. The intermission was not captured on DVD, so is not included on the remaster. The end of Third Eye bleeds into Disposition a bit, was a mistake, but I decided to leave it in. The are a few security ducks, most noticeable is during Reflection when the video drops for a few minutes. The video does end kinda abruptly right before the end of Lateralus, but the music still plays on in this remaster, including the post-show exit music. Audio notes: I did this remaster because a user on the Tool Hub was talking about how this was a great bootleg, the low ends were so overpowering to make it almost unlistenable. So I took at shot a cleaning it up. I think I brought out the fantastic recording that was buried under all that distortion. The only part that is still not great is during Disposition until about 2 min into Reflection there is some major mic rumble that was impossible to isolate and remove. So I did the best I could to lessen it. All other imperfections lie in the original recording. I normally use FLAC for encoding, but this source came as APE files so that is what I used to encode them after remastering just to avoid any problems. I hope you enjoy it! -tooligan- grendelator at yahoo dot com

Notes: Notes: I recorded this show with my Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mic and my Sony MZ-R37 Minidisc. It was recorded from the floor about 20 feet to the left of the mixing board. The recording is the complete show. The mic was not stationary and since the show was recorded from the floor, there was crowd noise, but otherwise no major issues. I would personally like to say, "Thanks a fuck-load" to the asshole selling bootleg Tool t-shirts right next to me during Disposition. Anyway, enjoy. Send comments to daskrabs@aol.com.

Notes: Long Beach: The final date of the Lateralus tour. With the cameras, mics, and digital tapes rolling, they pulled off probably the greatest performance of the '01-'02 tour, and one of the better of all time. Nope, I'm not overstating this one. Songs were played with intense focus, and as if it were their last time ever performed live. There was that urgency present in Maynard's performance not often displayed in these Lateralus shows. The performance of Third Eye on this night is paramount. I really thought the best performances of this song were behind us, in the '96 - '98 Aenima tour, but tonight the band truly captured the improv'd, manic but serene essence of this song to perfection. Really, can they Not choose this performance to put on the live DVD? The Patient is also the best I've heard them do. They were really in control of the dynamics of this song, and the move into the final climax just sends chills. The quality of the recording, for most of it, is excellent. He hit a nice position, and got a sweet sound here. This and Fresno are Armen's 2 best recording jobs. However, toward the end of Disposition and all throughout Reflection, the bass becomes badly distorted (Armen's not entirely sure why this happened). This distortion subsides during Triad and Lateralus, but is still there a bit. Nonetheless, this is a must-have show. Tech Notes: - Not all tracks were mastered smoothly. - There are a few pops here and there
