Notes: Banyan Quixote's, Denver, CO December 14, 2002 Soundboard SBD>Sony PCM-M1 (2nd in line after house DAT)>Delta Dio 2496>Waveburner Pro AIFF>Sound Studio WAV>Shorten SHN CD/Set 1: 5 tracks, total time 52:41 CD/Set 2: 10 tracks, total time 77:53 Contact: Les Brown, lbrown@idcomm.com Notes: This is the first time I had ever heard or seen Banyan, so I have no idea what the song titles are; but bits of Dark Star, Third Stone from the Sun and Little Drummer Boy appear during the show. Having never seen/heard Banyan and seeing them at Quixote's in Denver, I expected some kind of folksy Deadhead-type hippie band. I was quite surprised! The sound on this recording is very good. My primary complaints are that the bass is too low in parts (it's a small venue) and when an unknown rapper/singer takes the stage during one track of set 2, it sounds like his microphone may have had a short as there are a number of clicks and pops while he's on stage. Other than that, the music is very interesting. They are definitely NOT a folksy Deadhead-type hippie band. Enjoy! -Les
