Super Sonic SS 201056 purports to include an excerpt of this concert, but it's actually the April 9 show.
The Davis Sextet opened for the Grateful Dead and Stone the Crows for four nights at the Fillmore West, April 9-12. Complete tapes of all four shows are in wide circulation.
In addition to the Fillmore West shows, the Sextet played the fourth annual University of California Jazz Festival at the Berkeley Greek Theater (April 24), and the Both/And Club, San Francisco (April 28). After this Davis returned to New York for another period of intense studio activity -- five dates in the period from May 17-June 4.
