Even though Cactus did play on Halloween at the Fillmore East, this is probably from the night before; the Lee Michaels and Juicy Lucy sets for that night also circulate.

Band line-up:
Rusty Day: Vocals, Harmonica
Jim McCarty: Guitar
Tim Bogert: Bass, Background Vocals
Carmine Appice: Drums, Background Vocals

Notes: Notes: 1) Even though Cactus did play on Halloween at the Fillmore East, this is probably from the night before; the Lee Michaels and Juicy Lucy sets for that night also circulate. 2) Song separation between all tracks (some smoothed out from editing). 3) t01 cuts in; there is a cut in t02 at the middle of the bass solo, then the recording picks up with the final coda of the track.
Daniel (4/0) / View   Recording Information ::: unknown brand mono cassette recorder with external mike & adjustable...
Notes: ::: Very fine AUD for its vintage. Check samples for rejection or injection determinatin'. ::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Taper cut off deck between songs. #1 missing 1st few notes. #2 cuts in bass solo & resumes with final 15 seconds of song. #4 has a (probably quite brief) cut at start of drum solo. #5 cuts out at very end of song. ::: October 30 & 31, 1970 Fillmore East bill: Lee Michaels, Cactus, Juicy Lucy. Lights by Pig. Two shows per nite. ::: Date disputed in past but got this from my source as 1970-10-31 & Rusty(?) says "Happy Halloween" to the crowd. ::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: Unknown generation roryglzep/elegymart version has been DIMED numerous times. This version is a known generation (and remastered) upgrade. --------------------------------------- DimeTravel 244 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! My copy came from The Florida Kid. ::: Corrections welcome ::: We spent alot of time groovin' to this band. Loved the original line-up, but also really dug 'Ot 'n' Sweaty. The one time I got to see Cactus I think they were recently back from their appearance at Mar y Sol Pop Festival. They played outside on a lovely sunny afternoon on a day with 5 or 6 other bands & it was really, really fine. A lot of camaraderie at many of the shows I saw in that era & the music really brought a lot of folks together - Cactus, Canned Heat & so many other bands that boogied with fresh & unapologetic styles. Anyway, for those who were there, here's a reminder & for those who weren't, a way to catch some of the vibes, 45 years on... Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
