shows; four songs repeat.
Filler is "After Berlin."

SUNSET COWBOY, March 6, 1970, Fillmore East, New

electric with Crazy Horse, probably taken from both
the early and late shows. Of the boots of this

best sound.

Lee Michaels
CommentI was there! Lee was the opening act. With him on organ just with his drummer Frosty, stole the show, oding most of his live in the studio album. The next tour, he headlined over Humble Pie who this time, stole the show from him, recording their "Rockin the Fillmore" album. Unfortunately, Lee had the piano this tour supporting "Barrel." Soft ballads at 4-5AM didn't cut it after Pie 'rocked the Fillmore', so Lee was heckled unmercifully by a crowd that remembered how great this organ show was.

CommentFair warning:

For people looking for sdb's or A+ sound
quality: consider taking a pass on this.
(Though, imo, it's not bad for the time.
I think it's better than some of the
August 1970 Fillmore West aud recordings
circulating.)

In any case, for people like me, who worship
the 68-70 lineups,it's worth having.
It's a short set, because they were part of a
multi-band bill: Traffic was head-lining,
with FC, Mott the Hoople and Joe's Lights on
the same bill.

CommentBlues Power, Have You Ever Loved a Woman, Nobody Knows When You Are Down and Out are all officially released as part of the double CD release "Live at the Fillmore" (1996). Key To The Highway has been officially released on the Crossroads box-set.

Red Wine may actually be from the First Night:

From "Where's Eric! Magazine":
http://www.whereseric.com/ecfaq/bootlegs/best-clapton-bootlegs-1970.html
"The one misnomer is the ‘other’ version of “Bottle of Red Wine”, which on listening you find is the same version on both nights. One possible explanation is that in fact it wasn’t performed on the second night, with Marc Roberty’s book, The Complete Recording Sessions, listing it erroneously."

CommentNotes: Less than a month after the release of her 4th album, Christmas & The Beads of Sweat.

I had to remaster more problems with this show that I can even list but I think it came out well. The only major glitch left is about 3 secs. of Gibsom Street between 1:02 and 1:05. It was hard to edit or smooth out and the lyrics don't repeat themselves. I did manage to get a bunch of it out but there are still remnants between 1:02 and 1:04. I still think it's a nice show and the only Laura Nyro I have with Gibsom Street so it was worth the work!

CommentThis raw set is comprised of 3 tape sides. Only China Cat, Rider, Casey Jones from Set 1. From Set 2 we get Morning Dew, Bertha, Sugar Magnolia and Second That Emotion cuts. B side is Good Lovin', Drums, Good Lovin', Sing Me Back Home, the spanish tuning is missing, then NFA, GDTRFB, NFA, plus Uncle John's Band encore. The last tape side cuts in on Drums, Good Lovin', Sing Me Back Home cuts, Spanish Jam tuning floats into NFA, GDTRFB, NFA and Uncle John's Band again. I believe the last tape side is a different source from the other 2 tape sides.

A witness comments: "Fillmore East had it's last public Shows 6/26/71 - I was at both of those and officially closed with a private FM broadcast by invitation only show on 6/27/71. The 6/26/71 shows were never recorded... 6/27/71 [is] the only record of the closing of the Fillmore East." Note a bootleg may circulate as 7/26/71 but is mislabeled.
