Notes: This is a decent, not great audience recording of the last show of the Rolling Stones' brief 1971 UK tour, just before they left for France as tax exiles. The tape has never circulated, so the only source has been two different Trade Mark of Quality records. Apparently this title was released around the time of the split between the original two partners at TMOQ, and it appears that each released his own version. One version lacks Prodigal Son, runs slower, has slightly worse sound quality and is decently manufactured. The version presented here includes Prodigal Son, runs a bit faster but still slightly slow, has slightly better sound quality, and is poorly manufactured. The record used for this torrent looks almost new but is extremely scratchy. Apparently TMOQ's pressing plant wasn't able to decently manufacture a long, 53 minute title. Fortunately, I used some amazing software, ClickRepair, which managed to remove 99% of the surface noise. I also sped the recording up 2% in Adobe Audition to approximately match the speed of VGP's "Lost Marquee Tapes," sourced from a similar LP, and added a little treble. The recording is still pretty murky. Lineage is Audience -> ? -> LP-> PC -> you. Hardware used: Music Hall MMF7 turntable, Ortofon OM20 cartridge, Adcom GFP 565 preamp, and Intel High Def motherboard ADC (not great but good enough for this LP). Software used: Adobe Audition 1.5 for recording, editing, and EQ, ClickRepair for removing LP surface noise, CD Wave for splitting files, and foobar2000 for converting to FLAC and tagging. Presented in FLAC 1.2.1, level 8. Includes LP cover scan, combined from two scans because the insert is glued on and wouldn't fit on my scanner otherwise. Includes cue sheet for burning, with CD text.
