Barracuda (Heart w/ Cantrell and Inez) Notes: Alice in Chains: all surviving members....Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney, Mike Inez w/ Special Guests: Maynard James Keenan, Pat Lachman, Ann Wilson, Chris Degarmo, Wes Scantlin, Scotty Olsen.....others Notes: This really is a Jeckyll and Hyde show. The first part of the show (acoustic) has times of high annoyance as there are some loud, chatty people near the taper. People who ironically have to scream through the whole song how awesome the song is. Hmmm...Anyway, this would have been an awesome recording if not for the crowd chatter. Since it is acoustic, the chatter is more prevalent and annoying, but damn, Cantrell's vocals sound outstanding. And Lachman's Layne Staley impression is right on. The electric version of the show is much better as a lot of the chatter is drowned out...you can still hear the crowd talking and singing, but it isn't as distracting as the acoustic part. The show's coolness factor is off the charts though, and if you can deal with people talking and screaming, as if you were actually at the show, it is a fine show to have. The music sounds great, everything is clearly recorded. Unfortunaly, that also goes for the crowd noise. Oh, one thing to note. This may have been converted to MP3 somewhere along the way, as there are miniscule track separators audible, but definitely nothing to lose your buzz over.

Notes: Description Ok, it wasn't officially Alice In Chains, because that's not what they called themselves. But they didn't call themselves by any name, so I'm calling them Alice In Chains simply for identification purposes. Here's last night's acoustic set performed by the 3 former Alice In Chains members playing publicly together for the first time since 1996. They were joined in this set by Scotty Olson, Pat Lachman, and Chris Degarmo. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the second, electric set, due to dead batteries. That set was amazing and I'm hoping someone else taped and will share it. Sean Kinney organized this to benefit Care.org in their Tsunami relief efforts. The band for this set is: Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney, Mike Inez, Chris Degarmo (ex-Queensryche), Pat Lachman (ex-Damageplan), Scotty Olson, Pat ??, with Ann Wilson (Heart) sitting in for Brother.
