During I Will Follow. Bouncers beat up a fan and Edge has to stop before Bono yells "where the hell are we". the last time we were here this concert just began for us. we won't have it ruined now nor any mistreatment to our people. these are our people. and if anybody spoils it. we make the music. it's rock and roll not cabaret. Before Pride. Bono says that this is a charity show. in the middle of Gloria. the crowd become very violent and Bono has to calm the crowd down so that Bono can stop Gloria not once but twice. Bono asks the crowd to move back. and Gloria & 40 are both played with no problems.

Notes: 4th gen. cassette Maxell XLIIS > Nakamichi BX-125 > Yamaha CDR-D652 > Sony (crap) Audio CD > iTunes > Audacity > xACT > flac > you I got this cassette in a trade in the mid-80s. It says it's 4th generation, so it must be. The venue seems to be oversold, or at least the fans and security are overenthusiastic. Gloria is over eight minutes long due to the band stopping for security/fan issues. This happened at the Chicago show eight days later during the same song, as well. There is another point where the song is stopped, too. Sounds like a crazy night. The recording is very good in spite of all the hassles.

Notes: Quality of the recording isn't amazing, and there's an annoying patron who gets his two cents in every so often (probably the taper himself). However, extreme crowd control problems and the band's way of dealing with it make this a fascinating listen.
