Here are some notes from the 1st file:
Kelly Roberti had been on a 2 week jaunt w/ Legendary Saxophonist David Murray and his quartet (Murray,Lafayette Gilchrest and Pheeroan Aklaff) playing gigs in Milwaukee,St.Paul,Chicago & Boston. Murray returned to Bozeman,MT w/ Roberti for a couple of gigs and clinics w/ The Kelly Roberti Sextet. These recordings were made on the 1st couple of days in April,2006. The trumpet player in the sextet (who has since sadly passed on) Ralph Sappington had a badly bleeding lip on the gig...Jazz trumpet legend Jack Walrath (amazing player) called Roberti from Billings,MT and came over to join the group on the 2nd night...some of it recorded here.
