| Notes: | Iron Maiden - Live at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia February 24, 2011 Source/Lineage: Core Sounds Cardioids (pointed towards stage) -> Sony PCM-M10 (line-in, 48kHz 24 bit) -> Soundforge 9.0e w/Izotope Ozone 4 Mastering Plugin (mastered and downconverted to 44.1kHz 16 bit) -> FLAC Level 8 Recorded, mastered and processed by: Yours truly ... Starclassic. Location: Stage left, 2 rows up on first tier seats, close to stacks Notes: Age is never a factor when you speak of Iron Maiden, be it the band or even the fans. These guys are still giving it their all and they certainly did on this particular evening for us. Granted, some of the material from The Final Frontier is very friggin' boring and I did have a hard time staying interested during those moments. In fact, my friends actually walked out to grab some beers before the next tune came up! Anyway, this is not about bashing Iron Maiden because for the few negatives, they have so many more positives that keep me coming back for more. They covered a reasonable spread of their catalogue though they still have yet to play anything from their Somewhere in Time CD, which in my opinion is one of their hardest albums in their repertoire. The show was a blast to be at and Nicko at the very end of the gig didn't have to say much to make us all smile from ear to ear. He certainly is a character in his own right. All in all, the band pleased the crowd immensely, the sound guy was on the ball - clearly one of the best sound guys I've come across - and the crowd around me was reasonably behaved to ensure that this recording turned out better than I had actually expected. And so here it is, in all its audible metal goodness! Enjoy and as always, feedback is appreciated. ...and please do not sell this bootleg, otherwise you're just plain old scum. That and Eddie will kill you. | |||||
