Comment

This setlist comes from several performances, but some of them could be from 10.21.91. This is probably a late 1991 show, though, as both Jimi Thing and Warehouse have lyrics very unlike their final versions (the Warehouse lyrics changed to their present form in early 1992).

* At the beginning of the song, Dave lets out a primal scream, thus making this version the true Screaming from the Minarets.

REMASTERED Charlottesville, VA Source: ASBD > CD CD Remastering: Pioneer DV-525 > AudioSource EQ 100 > Pioneer PDR-555RW [Eric Naylor] Tracks: 01 People, People 03 Exodus 03 True Reflections ------------------ 04 Warehouse 05 Screaming from the Minarets 06 "Water Drum Jam" ------------------ 07 Jimi Thing ------------------ 08 One Sweet World ------------------ 09 So Much to Say 10 Help Myself Notes: Tracks 1-3: From a late 1991 show, probably at Eastern Standard in Charlottesville. Boyd is brought on stage and introduced as "a friend" just before True Reflections. This show took place between the point when Peter joined the band (8/91) and the point when Boyd joined permanently (1992). Tracks 4-6: From late 1991, possibly part of the same show as the previous tracks. The Warehouse lyrics are very similar to those from the 10.22.91 show (assuming that show to be correctly dated), which would place this performance near then. This tape as a whole came labeled as 10.21.91, so that may in fact be the date of these tracks. The "Water Drum Jam" was labeled as such on the tape, which seems like a fitting title for this percussion jam with lyrics. The end of the jam is cut off. Track 7: This song closed either a set or an encore from early 1992, probably at Trax. The lyrics are pretty solid, including the actual words "jimi thing." This would place the song after the 12/91 demo in which the song made no reference to a "jimi thing." Track 8: From mid to late 1991. Possibly the first performance of this song, as Dave introduces it as "an all new song." The track is cut off near the beginning. Tracks 9-10: From 12.12.93. Thanks to Mezze Andrades for pointing this out. These tracks are NOT from 1992. 12.12.93 is the true date. compiled by Eric Naylor dmbtrade@hotmail.com 3/14/01 UPDATED 3.1.04 (Jake - it was my mistake on the dates)

Notes: This is the greatest mix tape you never heard. Labeled '10.21.91', it was even an uncommon show back in the analog days. It is basically a mix tape of various 1991 performances, with some great gems. Some of the nice ones include; "Screaming From The Minarets", with the Scream by Dave starting off the song, "Water Drum Jam", an early DMB jam that sounds like it's the lost track from the Little Mermaid soundtrack, and early Jimi Thing, and two Dave and Tim tracks. The Dave and Tim songs could be from as early as October, 1992, but the true date is unknown.

Dave mentions during the 4.22.93 show that he and Tim had played one show together previous to that one . . . could this be that show? You can hear the first note of Nancies beginning after Help Myself. compiled by Eric Naylor dmbtrade@hotmail.com 3/14/01
