John McLaughlin - Electric Doubleneck Guitar
Rick Laird - Electric Bass
Jerry Goodman - Electric Violin
Jan Hammer - Keyboards
Billy Cobham - Drums

According to John McLaughlin, Columbia refused a live release of this show. John McLaughlin himself feels that this show in Cleveland is one of the best that the Mahavishnu Orchestra has ever done. As Irony would have it, Columbia asked their engineer and Gregg Bendian to assist with the release of this live CD. A mix was made and sent for approval to John McLaughlin. No word from Columbia since.

Notes: "Wild Strings," liberated boot. Pitch corrected -- speed was approx 2.7% too slow, amended with Adobe Audition -- lineage should now be: sbd -> ? -> Bootleg CD -> ? -> flacs -> Adobe Audition 1.5 (flac import) -> -> speed/pitch corrected* -> flac -> sbe's fixed with TraLiHe *to fix the slow speed of this recording I loaded the individual tracks into Adobe Audition. I then changed the speed/pitch with the tool: "Effects" -> "Time/Pitch" -> "Stretch" -> "Constant Stretch" with "Stretching Mode" set to "Resample (preserves neither)" -> "Ratio" set to "97.3" -> "OK" -- Bert's listening satisfaction test :) "You Know You Know's" theme was used to get the speed/pitch of the recording right. I played it on a six string tuned to concert pitch, i.e. A=440Hz. I thought it safe to presume, the band used this tuning. IMHO, this is a much better listening experience now. The band appears tighter and even more fiery.

Notes: One of the better sounding shows of the Orchestra. There's some fine guitar as the night progresses, especially with 'Maya Dance.' Good stuff.
