Notes: This show is great, because I was there! I was right by the soundboard guy too, he did record the whole show, and I don't know why this is incomplete, but the sound is amazing here. There is a good amount of highs and lows here. 2112 and Freewill sound great here, with amazing performances of both of them. By-tor and the Snowdog sounds a bit compressed, but the rest of the show sounds amazing. The 2nd generation tape was used for 2112 and Freewill, but the rest of the show suffered from severe distortion and cuts. The 1st generation was used for the rest of the show, but it had some more tape hiss than the 2nd generation source, but it sounds great any way it was made. A great show, a must have for the Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures lover.

Notes: SPEED-CORRECTED RE-WORK OF "Something Old, Something New" - converts to 2 audio discs (TRT 1:20:39) Lineage: CD-R -> .wav -> Nero Wave Editor (pitch correction, volume adjustments, drop-out repair, indexing) -> .wav -> TLH (SB alignment) -> .FLAC This is a soundboard from the brief pre-Moving Pictures tour, but it's not without its problems! The "Something Old, Something New" production has significant pitch issues throughout, which are compounded by the fact that two sources were used to create it (including more than 1 patched section in "The Spirit of Radio" itself!), and both of them are off by different amounts. Moreover, the pitch goes WAY off the reservation in the latter part of "A Passage to Bangkok." The sound quality is otherwise very nice, but those problems really hindered the listening experience for me. Using a free tuning app, I compared against studio references to assess the differences throughout and then adjusted the speed accordingly on the source so that it now plays much closer to the correct pitch. Given the speed fluctuations throughout the recording, there was only so much I could do--you can still hear it going on within certain tunes if you're listening for it, but I spent many hours assessing & correcting the average deviations and the more glaring jumps wherever I could, and I'm happy enough with the results to share them with you--it's a lot closer to "correct" now! I also copied/pasted to repair a short drop-out that was at the beginning of "Jacob's Ladder," and made the volume more consistent throughout. The pre-Moving Pictures performances of "Limelight" and "Tom Sawyer" are slightly different than their studio counterparts! The artwork is downloaded from DRE and doesn't reflect the revised running times. Enjoy!

Notes: Hyperspace (Gypsy Eye GE-170) - incomplete recording (TRT 1:14:50) A copy of Something Old, Something New missing The Spirit of Radio. Considering that Gypsy Eye has no qualms about copying other people's works, it is strange that they left off "The Spirit of Radio" and cut out some of the between song banter. Doing so dropped it to a 1cd release and cost them the profits of a 2cd release.

Notes: 79:40 Setlist: 2112: Overture/Temples of Syrinx Freewill By-Tor and the Snow Dog Xanadu Limelight The Trees Hemispheres: Prelude The Spirit of Radio Closer to the Heart Beneath, Between, & Behind Tom Sawyer Jacob?s Ladder A Passage to Bangkok Natural Science (fade) AKA Something Old, Something New. This may be MP3 sourced, but it is hard to tell. This is definitely a soundboard recording. The crowd is barely even there. But it has seen a few tape generations, especially in the very beginning. Just a couple of brief, choppy parts. Quality really is very good though. The very beginning of 2112 is cut ever so slightly on a fade in. Weird goings on during ?The Spirit of Radio??just sounds like different sources being patched in, but the sources keep sounding better. Brief skip during ?Jacob?s Ladder? and ?Natural Science? fades out at around the 6:30 mark. But this boot is worth it for the pre-Moving Pictures versions of ?Limelight? and ?Tom Sawyer?. ?Limelight??s guitar solo is quite different and there are even some different lyrics in ?Sawyer?.

Notes: Good show. There is a speed issue with this one, most noticable during "Spirit Of Radio" where half the song is taken from a different source at the correct speed. 2112 is wavey. The last songs fades out. Still a worthy listen.
