One set only:
1. Macha > 09:17
2. Partido Alto > 08:59
3. Acht O'Clock Rock > 08:29
4. We Are Rolling > 09:05
5. Sequel 07:17
6. Shacklyn Knights 06:27
7. Start/Stop 10:53
8. Blue Pepper 09:21
Total time: 69:49
Flaw notes: Light sprinkling of subsecond mini-dropouts
(not silences, more like slight reductions) throughout
(1 or so per song? We did not write them down).
Retracking notes:
The original shn set had 10 tracks all with sector boundary problems
and nearly random track placements. In a first try at retracking, we
tried simply to join the wavs together for resplitting, but a few
track segments were inexplicably filled with static when the joined file
opened in CDWave. There may be something "weird" about the Philips-generated
tracks (even though they burned fine for us as audio). To overcome this,
we used the following process:
-Stripped headers using shntool strip -o wav *.shn (v 1.01)
-Opened each wav individually in CoolEdit 96 and saved as Windows PCM .wav
(this step, though tedious, was what made them all somehow "normal")
-Appended all tracks using shntool join *.wav
-Cut by ear in CDWave
Below are our cut points used on the joined wav (M:S:F) in case someone
wishes to duplicate the retracking process on their copy of the original
material.

We started this as a simple practice shntool boundary-fix, then it turned into a whole tutorial session!
It was worth learning, but unfortunately the raw material itself doesn't warrant spreading this one to every corner. The recording is somewhat indistinct, there are a few microflaws, and while the playing itsef is solid (there are few "bad" MMW shows), there are better exemplars out there. Get 9/27/01 instead if you have a choice. :)
