Notes:
Original source submitted to alt.binaries.gdead.highspeeds.reposts
had SBE's on tracks d1t06, d2t06 & d3t08.  I converted all shns
back to wav and then ran shntool fix (v1.2.1) on each set
independently.  I then re-shn'ed the corrected wav files with
seek tables appended. Marc Pujol 2/18/2003

Notes 2/23/2003:
Shntool was previously run on disc-groups instead of sets.
Applying shntool against sets gave diff md5s for 3 tracks:
d1t07, d2t01, d2t03.  The other tracks are the _same_ as
the fixed version of circ date 2/18/2003 from Marc Pujol.
File names were also standardized; this does not change md5s.

but in the info file for the previous fix, Mark P. said the fix was performed by set and not by disc. i'm confused...

He MEANT to run shntool on sets, but ran it against the discs instead of sets, or at least divided at disc1. I started with the same source and ran shntool and got different results-- research showed it was due to running on sets vs. discs (as in prev version).
I discussed this with Mark P.
We both agree that this way is correct, but also both agree that most people wont hear the difference.(shntool makes SMALL shifts) So if you already burned audio disc, don't keep shn and won't redistribute it, you don't really need to get a new copy. But I'm picky, and the prev SBE-fixed version effectively shifts some of set2 into the end of set1.

i didn't realize that the fix was fixed by disc (it said by set in the info file). that's why my fix didn't jibe i guess either. definitely fixes should be applied by set.

SBE's on tracks d1t06, d2t06 & d3t08.

The SBEs on discs 2 & 3 are benign, being as they are at the end of the disc. You should run shntool and repair the SBE on disc 1 before burning, though.

benign or not SBE's are sloppy and the one on disc 2 could potentially be problematic and undesirable for future seamless media. Therefore I submitted a corrected version of the shns, which are also seekable for all the shnamp users out etree land :)

i burned the show with sbe's to audio and there's no audible hiccup between d1t06 and d1t07.

i agree... I didn't hear any thing between d1t06 and d1t07 either. nice show!

i would say out of all the sources for this show, this would be the best sounding :-) still waiting for an x-y schoeps..hehe. all in all, solid source, and goooood show! don't forget, the warfield has a 6 foot mic stand rule, so most copies will have a full audience sound

Shntool was run on disc-groups instead of sets.
Applying shntool against sets gives diff md5s for 3 tracks:
d1t07, d2t01, d2t03.
Otherwise, the last track of Set 1 is being padded slightly with the start of Set 2, instead of rounding with silence there and leaving Set 2 starting correctly.

The version of the show distributed on TuneTree has this source with the 3 different tracks as above. Other tracks are not affected as they yield the same md5s.
(plus standardization of names on TuneTree version; filenames can be changed without affecting md5 value, just change name also in .md5 text file)

User: TuneTree
The new/different md5s for the correctly-shntool'ed version are as follows:

ac725a7f584e447318dfc4a14ce8e472 *dead2003-02-14d1t07.shn
c4f1f9d3393c0b922403004d850ffe8c *dead2003-02-14d2t01.shn

8f48ba2143cec1d7fa989a940401970d *dead2003-02-14d2t03.shn

(note: this is a picky difference. It is correct, but if you are only a "listener" and not an archivist or one spreading the show to others...you probably won't hear the difference from not re-burning this audio)

"...the last track errors are not cosmetically relevant..."

I disagree with this. An error is an error is an error. When this SHN set is transferred to a future format (perhaps DVD-A recordable) and the whole show can fit onto one disc, these SBEs become VERY relevant.
