encore:
07 [07:14] Casey Jones

note: splice in Wharf Rat at 2:51

Based on Alan Fink's patched version:

...I used Steve Windsor's notes from his version:

...to verify and make the fixes myself.

I also made several additional fixes, including...
-- Removed two additional pops from Eyes Of The World at 14:35 and 15:10.
-- Patched the splice in Wharf Rat with MSR>?>DAT>CD.  Even after patching,
it sounds like there may be a small chunk of material missing.
-- Removed four additional pops from GDTRFB at 6:41, 6:43, 6:45 and 6:47.
-- Patched the start of Casey Jones with alternate MSC>DAT>CD source.
-- Retracked each disc so that tuning follows songs at the end of tracks.

Kudos to Alan and Steve for their hard work.
Thanks to Andy for the patch material for Wharf Rat.

Great job to all concerned, but this is a prime candidate for a Dick's Picks. It has far too much hiss (at least in the first set) for what a show of this magnitude deserves, plus it has a lot of market value in that it's not only optimum '74 performance level, but it covers the gambit. It's got big jams, a scorching China>Rider, well played and varied short songs. Yes, this should be the next '74 DP.

The tracking on this is pretty screwy if you ask me. Set 2 and Set 3 both fit nicely on one CD each (set 3 requires an 80). Why split them up? Especially since set 1 is a different source, so having part of Set 1 and part of Set 2 on a disc would sound kinda harsh. Also, does Truckin' really require FOUR tracks?

This was eventually release by the jerks at Rhino that cut the hell out of it. I can't believe they just stopped in the middle of Playin'.

I thought the folks at Grateful Dead whatever, didn't do drugs anymore. Someone was on drugs when they gave the catelog over to Rhino.
