I've read that this night was not recorded by Brennecke & Young (note different mics); they took the night off and gave their seats to these tapers. perhaps Clay or Jamie can convirm/deny this?

Correct you are!
I did not hold mics or set levels ...etc.
I can't remember whether Jamie physically helped make this.
The majority of the credit goes to a taper whose name I will have to track down...

This night may have been taped FOB by either Wayne Bonomo or Pete Ebel.

I checked with Jamie to see what he recalled. His reply was: "I believe that was Zimmer because I remember that being his setup and I can recall spending time with him."
Jeff Zimmer made the FOB 9.20.93 recording that is incredible! Jeff lived at the time in Santa Cruz and was one of the many folks who (in one form or another) pitched in to allow me and Jamie to achieve what we achieved.
Wherever you are Jeff, my friend, you tore it up that night!!!

Upon further discussion between James Young and me, we can state beyond the shadow of a doubt that Jeff Zimmer is the SOLE taper of this great recording.
I checked my journals, and even noted his taping seat -just a few seats off from being DFC.
Jamie and I can not recall why we did not tape that evening -not even from the taper's section...
Finally Zimmer has the credit he deserves!
