This was a new venue and the first shows. It showed. The highway was packed for as far as the eye could see and then a little bit further. The left lane was SRO. The next lane was nearly so. It took a looooooooooong, slooooooooooooow time to get to the exit ramp. It then took a bit to get to where you 'could' park. The lot was full. We were warned that if we parked where we were we were subject to tow. At this point I didn't care! My 1973 Grand Torrino had overheated about 2 hrs before and I was thankfull it still ran. It needed to rest. And the show had already started! YIKES! We had been able to hear the music playin while trying to get off the freeway and find a spot to park. Nothing was going to stop us now. NOTHING! We pulled our cars and vans bumper to bumper to the side of the road. The mad dash begins.

We had been able to hear Touch while still on the freeway. Then the music sorta faded out of hearing. As we entered the grounds Jack-A-Roe was finishing. We made plans on how to meet up later as I had seats 2 row in front of Phil and the others had seats 12 row slightly more centered. And the race continued.

I had the pleasure of taking a long time friend to his first shows here. I also put the brakes on before he had too much too fast and suggested he pass it on to those still in 'need' of a little more chemical 'help'.

As we settled in for who knows what I was aware that while the venue wsa not so hot, the songs we were hearing/feeling were not your ordinary set list. We grooved out the rest of set one.

Set break. Time to meet up, do the waiting dance and prepare for what was to be undoubtably a HOT second set. The boys did not disappoint.

Again, not a very unusual setlist. But you gotta love a three-fer Playin'. An Crazy Fingers is a personal favorite of mine. OMSN and Mighty Quinn are far from being high on my list of 'please let them play this tonight' but they were better than many others I've been to.

All in all this was a pleasant sign of what we were to see/feel tomorrow! :-} Now it was off to the campgrounds and see which of our taper friends were back yet.
