This was a special show for me on several levels. Having been going to GD shows for a while it was the first time my dad went to one!

I had gotten tickets, not great but inside anyhow, and my normal tour pals couldn't go. I was having car troubles and was unsure just how I was gonna get there. When my dad started asking about what I liked about the shows and I was unable to put into words I decided that if he could make it I had to take him. My older sister had been going to shows a couple years longer than I, but there was no way her mother would go.

Then a week or so before the shows one of my tour buddies asked if I still had a ticket available. As much as I wanted to go with him I just knew that I had to take my dad and said no. He managed to get a ticket and we all went!

After wandering around showing my dad the usual bazar we headed in. At that point my father volunteered to take and switch seats with my bud so we could sit together. He went and experienced his first GD show by hisself!

I don't recall this as a super standout show but it did have some nice versions of some of my favs : Peggy-O, The Same Thing, Crazy Fingers, The Weight.

After the show when I asked my dad what he thought he seemed to have enjoyed it even though he was waaaay off to right side. I think he liked the first set best. He mentioned how interesting it was to hear a couple songs he knew even if he had never heard them played like that before. He made mention of how friendly everyone was. Folks kept offering him 'cigarrettes' while he was reading during Set I but he politely declined, although, he did pass a couple on to others.

Not what I'd call a "get this RIGHT NOW before anything else" show, but some good playing throughout and a grate time was had by all around me. I remember thinking that it sounded pretty good for a really, really, big stadium. If any of these songs on this set list are favorites of yours get this show. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
