Notes: Some basic info: Galen's info: Unknown Video Recording Equipment > 3rd Gen VHS > DVD DVD size: 3.50 GB Runtime: 1 hr 44 mins (incomplete) No menu Setlist: Tuva The Grudge (-) Ions Stinkfist 46 & 2 Parabola Pushit Schism Disposition Reflection Intermission Triad Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Opiate (cut - taper busted by security) Lateralus (missing) Galen says in his review for this that the taper keeps it pretty steady. I guess we have different ideas of what steady is, cause I think this is one of the most jittery film jobs I've ever seen. However, in an odd way, if you can adjust your eyes to the jitteriness it's an enjoyable watch to some extent. Now for the gen part. For those of you who care, read on. For those of you who don't, skip this paragraph and just sign up. I'm hesitant to state with any sort of certainty the gen of this. Galen claims to have a 3rd gen VHS transfer, but says it may actually be a 2nd gen. My screenshot below looks quite similar in quality to what he has posted. Geordy claims to have a 1st gen copy but according to some info he sent me a while back, it doesn't really look all that good for a 1st gen. One of our fellow CU users, Ryan A., claims on his etree list to have a 2nd gen copy. Another etree user and Tool taper, travis (ions), claims to have a 1st gen copy with transfer and menu done by clint (distortion). The travis listing intrigues me because he mentions a menu, and this copy has none. So I am hoping that if any of this is true and there really is an upgrade available to what I am offering, maybe this vine will help snuff it out. But in lieu of actually seeing a better transfer, my take is that all these different listings are really just talking about the same thing, and that what I am offering here is actually the same and only version that's been going around the trade pool the last few years. Prove me wrong?

Notes: OK, my time to vent! First off, this naming rights shit to arenas and amphitheaters sucks three donkey dicks!!! Unless a name was it's original name, I refuse to conform and refer to an arena by it's new name! (Unless you own the entire fucking building!!!) Calling the Providence Civic Center, the "Dunkin' Donuts Center"??? You have GOT to be out of your corporate fucked minds!!! EXTREMELY shaky camera at times but clear picture. Fans around the filmer are VERY annoying! Chatting, yelling, whisting and (if this is what you call it)singing. People like these should know that others do not go to a concert to hear them singing and carrying on like doinks! Just because you "paid your hard earned money for this show", doesn't mean you have to fuck it up for someone else!Furthermore, Maynard can't hear you yeling "Maynard!" when you are at the back of the arena/amphitheater! DUH! Got a problem with all this...? Tough shit!

Notes: This is really a remarkable recording for the equipment used (headphones and a minidisc). It's extremely full, dynamic, well-balanced, and fun to listen to. It is very loud and distorts a bit as a result, which is to be expected, but other than, good. The performance is even far better. I mean, this is one of the top performances of the '01 tour by far. Fucking gigantic, focused energy from beginning. Who knew they'd bring it for North Carolina? I'm not sure there's much to say about Pushit that I haven't said in other reviews of the October shows, other than this is another one of THOSE, and a little more. Just a must hear. I'll be listening to this one again very soon.
