Notes: "Could You Walk on Water" (Sister Morphine MORPH 14) Outtakes, alternate versions & remastered classics from 1964 -1968 presented in excellent quality. Many are rare stereo versions. First 10 tracks were meant for an album bearing this very name. A brief summation for those who don't know the story: The Stones cut some tracks in late 1965 for an early 1966 album to be titled *Could YOU Walk On Water?* The Stones cannot, and they find this out when Decca refuses to issue the album with such a title. By the time the Stones give in and agree to change the title, they have recorded a few more songs, and the original track lineup gets revamped, with several tracks falling to the temporary wayside. Some eventually surface on singles or the American Aftermath album

Notes: This is obviously done around the '71-'72 period while recording the album at Keith's villa in France, although the final 4 tracks seem performed in front of an audience. Some very nice alternates in the bunch. 1. Exile On Main Street 2. All Down The Line 3. Sweet Virginia 4. Hip Shake Boogie 5. Stop Breaking Down 6. Tumbling Dice 7. Shine A Light 8. Ventilator Blues 9. Loving Cup 10. Let It Loose 11. 'Lounge Jam' 12. Rocks Off 13. Happy 14. Tumbling Dice 15. All Down The Line 16. Rip This Joint

Notes: Another Stones gem I have out for a trade, and haven't seen offered here. This is a collection of outtakes, acetates, OOP singles, etc. There are some nice performances. Lisa's belting on Gimme Shelter gives goosebumps. This is also titled "Anybody Seen My Baby?", and is the "Official Black Album" as well as the "Grey Disc". It is 2 Audio CDs. Notes: My favorite of all the Exiles-era outtake stuff I've heard. Worth having even if only for the first track...a novelty homage to the whole album. This is obviously done around the '71-'72 period while recording the album at Keith's villa in France, although the final 4 tracks seem performed in front of an audience. Some very nice alternates in the bunch. May I suggest finding the lyrics to the album off the 'net and reading along...after 30 years of listening I still missed some, and was rewarded when I did it. 1. Exile On Main Street 2. All Down The Line 3. Sweet Virginia 4. Hip Shake Boogie 5. Stop Breaking Down 6. Tumbling Dice 7. Shine A Light 8. Ventilator Blues 9. Loving Cup 10. Let It Loose 11. 'Lounge Jam' 12. Rocks Off 13. Notes: 7 CDs worth of live recordings from the legendary North American Tour of 1972, with all known radio soundboards, New York sound board, Montreaux rehearsals, and more. This is the tour where the Stones took debauchery to a new level. This is what Stanley Booth (author of The True Adventures Of The Rolling Stones) says about the Stones at that time: Do you go along with the idea that hanging out with The Stones was bad for [Gram Parsons]? "Well, I tell you what - hanging out with The Stones has been good for very few people. I survived and I'm grateful. But look at Bobby Keys, you know? A bunch of us survived by the skin of our teeth. It's not an imaginary thing, that aspect of The Stones. They were truly dangerous to be around at that point." Were they aware of that? "Oh yeah. Sure they were. They were as aware as anybody could be." And did it cause them concern? "Er...Well, it's kind of like being in Vietnam. If you're in Vietnam, there are people who want to cut your ears off and bury you up to your neck in dirt. You can't help being aware of that, but at the same time, you've got to do what you've got to do. What The Stones was doing was dangerous, in a lot of ways. It really did mean something. It came with the territory. " .....
