Comment

Elton's July 7, 1982 show was broadcast live throughout the United States on the NBC radio network. With millions of fans listening, Elton delivered what may have been his best performance of the 1980s. Elton's vocals are first rate - no hoarseness and plenty of successfully hit high notes (it doesn't hurt that the sound crew mixed Elton's vocals with a healthy dose of reverb). The band for the 1982 tour is spectacular. Nigel Olsson, Dee Murray and Davey Johnstone joined Elton for the first time since 1975. Elton and the band deliver great versions of Better Off Dead, Empty Garden, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Ticking, Elton's Song and Chloe as well as a soaring Rocket Man. To my knowledge this concert has never been professionally bootlegged. There are at least four different versions of this show in circulation.

A - Complete FM master; previously circulated with two bonus tracks from "Rainbow Rock"
B - Incomplete FM master
C - Complete FM master taped from KEZY FM in Anaheim, CA
