Wembley Arena. Disc 2 (4-12): September 17, 1984. Melbourne, Australia. Sports And Entertainment Center. Sound Quality: Disc 1, Disc 2 (1-3): Very good audience. Disc 2 (4-12): Good-very good audience. Comments: Deluxe color digipack package. Very interesting versions of songs from 'The Unforgettable Fire' songs on the Melbourne tracks. Also a lot of older songs are played on this bootleg that were never played again on later tours. This CD is of similar quality to two other excellent CDs from 'The Unforgettable Fire'-era, THE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT and FOUR AT FOUR. Unfortunately, though, this CD has been mastered at the wrong speed. As a result, the pitch of the Wembley show is too fast by nearly 1/2 a step. The bonus tracks are even worse; they are off in pitch by nearly a whole step. If attention to details such as proper pitch matters to you, and if you have the ears to tell the difference, don't buy this CD. If, on the other hand, such things don't matter to you, or if you can't tell the difference anyway, then it is a worthy CD to add to your collection. It's hard to imagine how anyone could not recognize how bad the bonus tracks are, though. They sound more like the Chimpunks than U2. Finally, this recording is *not* from November 14, 1984, as the manufacturer claims. It is from the second night at Wembley Arena, London, England on November 15, 1984. This CD could have been terrific, since it's one of the best concerts from the first European leg of the Unforgettable Fire tour, and it includes (among many other highlights) some beautiful improvisational scat singing before "Bad" that I've never heard Bono sing prior to this show or since. It's a shame the manufacturer didn't pay enough attention to details to get this one right. This is the original pressing on this label.
