Notes: unknown lineage > CD-R (trade) > EAC wav > Trader's Little Helper flac level 8 & torrent > HungerCity Flying M additional lineage: Hunger City > Audacity (clean up) > CD Wav > Flac (Level 8) > Stamp ID3 tag editor in 2018 additional work was done using iZotope RX6 advanced & Har-Bal 3.0 to improve the sound even more ORIGINAL NOTES: In 1999 collector Andre Tschudin gathered together numerous copies of this most famous Van Morrison show in order to locate the best sounding copy and this is it. There may have been an upgrade since then, but Iím unaware of any as Iíve been out of trading circles since that time. One caveat is that this is lacking the Tom Donahue introduction. For those that are casual fans, this is *the* most famous Van Morrison bootleg recording, having been bootlegged more times over the years than any other show. Why this hasn't been officially released is a mystery and a shame. The sound quality and performance are exceptional. If you're just a casual fan and only have one Van Morrison bootleg in your collection, this should be it! October 2012 Clean-Up notes: Such a great sounding recording but there were some small technical issues. The worst was a couple of very noticeable dropouts in Domino. Wondering if this was inherent in this source I went back to my 10 year old copy and the damage was on that also. I have reviewed 3 different sources now and this defect is in all of them. So I decided to see if I could repair this song and that lead to a general clean up of all the tracks. Quite a few hours were spent reviewing and cleaning this source up. Details include.... Plenty of light clipping including some chopped off peaks. The Audacity "Repair" function was used over each clipped peak to restore the waveform. Many clicks and pops were individually removed at this time. Two short patches were required to repair the damaged "Domino" (between 1:45 and 1:55). Another short patch was used to fix the beginning of "Dead Or Alive" (between 0:07 and 0:08). Once the damage was repaired all of the tracks were combined into a single file and the gaps between tracks were removed at this time. DC Offset correction and a reduction in Amplitude of 0.2 dB allows some headroom to prevent additional clipping. CD Wav was then used to cut new tracks and Traders Little Helper did the Flac conversion and Checksum/Fingerprints. Song information embedded with Stamp ID3 tag editor. January 2018 review and additional clean up Har-Bal 3.0 Harmonic Balancing was useful in bringing out additional details. iZotope RX6 advanced repaired dropouts and pops missed the first time. Har-Bal also gave this a better stereo image which is an additional improvement. Overall a nice upgrade making this just that much better. New checksums created. Thanks to the original taper and all involved. Just polished up an excellent recording and passing it on a little nicer than it was. This is for Historical reference only and not intended for re-sale or any commercial use. Enjoy -M- FLYING M PRODUCTIONS (October 2012)(Rev A - updated Jan 2018) My wish is that Van Morrison will someday release a series of live recordings and include this show.
