Notes: Nevinsrip Basement Tapes: I seeded this back in 2005. I figured that it was time to start re-seeding many of the shows that I recorded throughout the years. Back in the heydays of FM radio, I lived in Flushing Queens, and at the time, I had an FM antennae on my roof that picked up WLIR, WNEW, WPIX, WPLJ and WFUV at their optimum. My equipment was pretty good at the time of these recordings and it's time for me to start sharing what I have again. I probably have 400 or so FM shows. Quite a few of them are from the WLIR Tuesday Night Concert series. I'll start off with a white hot show that the Police did when they did some small clubs back in 1979 before they hit it big. On most of the shows I recorded I always started the tape a few minutes before the show actually started to get the DJ's comments and lead in. I did the same thing at the end. I include them here for anyone who wants to hear them just to put things in historical context. If you are not a fan of that sort of thing then just don't download them or burn them to disc. Easy enough. Some notes about the lineage. I sent my original tape and a second source (from DADDY 515) to a guy known as SERIUSJOE. He re mastered the whole show and spliced in DADDY 515's "Cant Stand Losing You" where I had a tape flip break on my version. He also used DADDY 515's DJ comments for some unknown (to me) reason. This is direct from the disc I received back from him in FLAC format.

Notes: David Hussey has access to a sound studio and top flight professional recording equipment somewhere out on the Left Coast. I had sent him a bunch of my original tape to CD transfers for him to remaster and get the most out of. His work is second to none, SeriusJoe did the first remaster of this show and he is a true talent. But David is in a league of his own. Try it, you'll like it!! I seeded this back in 2005. I include them here for anyone who wants to hear them just to put things in historical context. If you are not a fan of that sort of thing then just don't download them or burn them to disc. Easy enough. There are no finer recordings than a Hussey remaster of and original tape. I will put up his brilliant Springsteen shows in a couple of days. In the meantime, play this loud !!!! When I first seeded this show I could not find my original tape so I borrowed DADDY 515 original master tape and converted it to CD. A short while later I found my own original tape and converted that to CD. David Hussey had contacted me about remastering one of my other tapes and I sent this to him to work his magic. What you are about to download is the result. DADDY 515 used Maxell XL 11 tapes for his recordings while I preferred the much "hotter" TDK-SA's. Just a matter of personal choice, but I like the high end to really scream. If you have the original version, I urge you to grab this and hear the difference. If you don't have this show and you are a Police fan, then get ready to give your ears a treat as you listen to one of the best sounding Police shows ever recorded.
