Notes: NOTE: Sound quality is passable, though not outstanding. There is an abrupt stop in the middle of the show which is obviously a reel flip/change. Not very well edited, but they're called amateur recordings for a reason. :) JIM CROCE 9-20-73 Prather Coliseum, Natchitoches, LA ***his last show, he died later that evening*** 1 Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy) 2 Workin' At The Carwash Blues 3 Operator (That's Not The Way It Feels) 4 Roller Derby Queen 5 Lover's Cross 6 Thursday 7 Speedball Tucker 8 I Got A Name 9 Top Hat Bar And Griller 10 Bad, Bad Leroy Brown

Notes: Supposedly Jim's last show. Taped on a cassette recorder by two young women. How Croce liked to mock & ridicule people. For an ugly man he sure knew how to find fault in others. He seemed quite bitter. Not a fan of his character, or lack of it.

Notes: NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. What a swan song. Unfortunately, this is Jim's last show, but he leaves us with a great one - he's in good spirit, fine voice, and great form. Slightest hiss evident at the silences, but nothing too intrusive. A couple of skips on T3. FM-sourced. One of the truly sad stories in music. Croce crashed his plane on take-off only shortly after this show killing himself and five others including his long-time guitarist (who is introduced during this Louisiana stop). He was heading to perform his second gig of this same day only 70 miles away in Texas. The sky claims another great storyteller....

Notes: Hello DIMERS, Here is a REAL Treat for all you Jim Croce Fans... This is THE LAST Show Jim performed before his Untimely Death in 1973. This is an Audience recording & Very Good for its time. This recording I obtained many Years ago thru the art of Snail mail , Back in the days before Torrents were born. I believe this is 2nd generation from the master cassette tape . The story goes as thus: This cd contains the final moments of the legendary Jim Croce and his Lead Guitarist, Maury Muehleisen. Only fifeteen minutes after this concert ended, they were both killed when their charted plane crashed during take-off from the Natchitoches, LA airport. The four others aboard the aircraft were also killed and the names are unkown to me. Jim and Maury had just given a great show on the campus of Northwestern State Unversity in Natchitoches, Louisiana. They had been well received by almost 2000 fans. This show was taped on a hand held cassette recorder by 2 young women in the 3rd row. You will find the sound is Pretty amazing for an Audience recording back in the day. Please enjoy a look back at the FINAL performance of an American Legend : JIM CROCE. JIM CROCE Northwestern State University Natchitoches, Louisiana Thursday, September 20 , 1973 Song list 1) Rapid Roy ( The Stock car Boy ) 2) Workin At The Carwash Blues 3) Operator 4) Roller Derby Queen 5) Lover`s Cross 6) Thursday 7) Speedball Trucker 8) I Got A Name 9) Top Hat Bar And Grill 10) Bad Bad Lerot Brown Note: All the Dialogue between songs is present on this recording.
