Notes: ************************************************************* FLAC Tags Via xACT 2.50 By OldNeumanntapr ************************************************************* Infos by collectorsmusicreviews.com The final week of Wall shows at Earl's Court in the summer of 1981 were scheduled in order to film the band for their film project. As is well known the footage was never used for the film and has sat in the vaults for the past quarter of a century (although Roger Waters has hinted an official release). But this stint is more significant because it is the final time the real Pink Floyd performed together (until Live 8 in July), and The Last Few Bricks is the very last show from that summer. There are three different excellent sounding tape sources for this show. According to the You Gotta Be Crazy website, 'very easy to distinguish them from one point only, right during the first announcement by Gary Yudman: after he says 'Any camera found being used will be confiscated': on recorder 1 taper yells 'bollocks' on recorder 2 there's no comment (the taper laughs after Yudman says 'Believe me, there'll be enough explosions in your mind '). on recorder 3 taper says 'boo' and he or his friend also whistles then. Ayanami's 'Roger At Last' is sourced from the first tape source, whereas this new release on SirÈne comes from the third tape source from Nigel Bradder. It is a superb stereo audience recording whose only flaw is the occasional muffled comments by the taper. It really isn't too intrusive but is noticeable. The tape does pick up all of the dynamics of the audience's reactions to the puppets perfectly and you really get the feel of the live experience. The performance is excellent as well and a worthy end of an era. It's structured as all of the Wall shows so no surprises there. Before 'Young Lust' Waters announces, 'Thank you! Good evening! Welcome! Well at least Neil Diamond's not here tonight. That's something isn't it? This is called 'Young Lust' Sorry Neil, only joking! Before 'Run Like Hell' he says, 'Welcome! Are we gonna have a good time? Does anyone here like pigs? This is for all the weak people in the audience. Is there anyone here who's weak? This is for you; it's called 'Run Like Hell'. Lets all of us clap!' This is another worthy title from SirÈne and it's great to see the Japanese labels producing more Wall shows.

Notes: This is a cd burnable edition at 44kHz sample rate. The sound quality is Ex- and not quite as good as Nigel's 6th Aug 1980 recording. Taper: Nigel Bradder Recording made from Block 5, Row U seat 27 Equipment Used to record the show: - Technics Single Point Stereo Microphone->Sony TC-153SD Cassette Deck->TDK AD-120 cassette The transfer was made on the 11th September 2006 from the Master TDK AD-120 cassette (see photo). The transfer was made using the following equipment: - Playback via Nakamichi ZX-7 cassette deck with manual adjustment to height and azimuth of playback head to match that of the original tape recorder to optimise the sound during playback. Direct connection to analogue input of Audiophile 2496 soundcard via high quality Clicktronic interconnects with 24K gold plugs. Transfer made at 48KHz 16bit resolution to two wav files. The two wav files from the 120 min cassette were concatenated into a single wav using Adobe Audition. The 48kHz source was split into individual wav files, downsampled to 44kHz and saved in FLAC format. The resulting wave files have NOT been re-mastered or changed in ANY way this is a direct copy of the master tape. This is an excellent quality recording in stereo and I believe it is an upgrade on the other versions of this show that have circulated.

Notes: "The Handwriting on the Wall" (mastered directly from the source tape) Lineage:cass(m)>eac>flac Mastered to CD from the original tape and speed corrected by Danalog of Man of Leisure Music (MoLM) www.molm.org. It's likely the original tape recording machine's calibration was slightly off. MoLM got the master tape on loan from Carzi, who got it from the taper. Recorded with a Technics Single Point Stereo Microphone and a Sony TC153SD Cassette deck. This recording has less audible background audience than the more common Golden Stars/MoLM source. It tends to have a fuller range of sound, but slightly less bass than the more cirulated source from this date. This is the same taper who is known to have recorded 04Nov73, 16Nov74, 17Nov74, 06Aug80 and 17Jun81.

Outside the Wall 2:45 Total time, disc two: 54:02 This is actually the very last "real" Pink Floyd concert, and the first-ever remastered release by Man of Leisure Music (MoLM). "Real," meaning that this was the last time the lineup of Waters, Gilmour, Mason and Wright peformed together. It is also the 30th and final performance of the fabled Wall tour, performed at Earls Court in London. First weeded out in .wav audio format in September, 2000, some earlier audio copies had been traded out by the three MoLM partners. This is now being re-circulated and archived in .shn format in order to better preserve the original work of Danalog, the re-mastering whiz of MoLM. This was painstakingly speed-corrected, edited, equalized and bass enhanced. Three versions of the entire show was burned to disc and tested before Dan settled on what was to become the final product. We here at MoLM think you will find this to be one of the finer performances of the Wall. We hope you find this roio to be the finest edition of this historic concert in circulation. Here are the shn codes from the original discs, extracted with EAC in secure mode, 99.9 percent accurate, and using MKW from etree.org to shorten the files: disc one: 9a588cc2fd7f7645e01c7a24778840c9 *Track01.shn 226ea3fe9cd805b98683c81087460027 *Track02.shn 2a4cec5782976081c07b56f160c53bd4 *Track03.shn 7a951203c4e55e0ad7e5aa964a4edb5d *Track04.shn f687273f64ea1dea2a63804b08ae927c *Track05.shn 490a830b2b3b577373b7c3547b82e014 *Track06.shn 1e12547d08afb605083b660066ab062e *Track07.shn d8f9b32cc3e73fa93b0a1dae5899b3c6 *Track08.shn 0d18de4d138ca05b4d0b8f14f2f41fed *Track09.shn 477e0960728c030b9b63ed31e94992a8 *Track10.shn e17b9ef8f6c65098f821f6caf81909f3 *Track11.shn 09d09659d7a34e5f94f974d5663c7c19 *Track12.shn 82e377b17b2e407e027ef86319e33ca3 *Track13.shn disc two: 797fbed0c5cf0a3a2669a00bec7df797 *Track01.shn 3422d8ed269e3ef7a0acd050a2895f7a *Track02.shn 2bdf8afed78344daf8af25ea9f321dd6 *Track03.shn 91fed10b296a34022b8f49924b0be4a8 *Track04.shn ab5263a7d8e87feb18d5f66f0a823644 *Track05.shn 9d1ceb63b05a3dc7df1867b42f31b258 *Track06.shn 7136ed16d2fbeadf1899b686ee929fe4 *Track07.shn c0c47ac903d5881df102a23271a37160 *Track08.shn 635f94477e9d3a223988b0e237b7b487 *Track09.shn 01bddb0375164c9a4159df37d45c64ee *Track10.shn b06c2986f581052bdb5f2adbda2711c7 *Track11.shn 57e9b1b32abeb859e2832d77b843aacd *Track12.shn 87884173268248684fe7f2c13c1c57fc *Track13.shn Enjoy!
