Notes: The King Biscuit Flower Hour aired this show they recorded in Houston, Austin and Dallas in September 1983. The recording is amazing! This show appears exactly as it did on the radio except I removed the commercials and the announcers talking. There are also two songs ("Big Log" and "In the mood") that were mixed for a later broadcast that are included here as bonus tracks.

Long sought after by Zeppelin & Plant fans alike, only part of this short series has been available from the broadcast tapes until now. The quality you'll hear here surpasses that of previous "leaks" of the SBD material, especially the definition of the high frequencies. Does anybody remember.... dynamics? The range on this recording is spectacular - nice and open - no clipping. Absolutely ZERO compression, limiting or EQ applied to this transfer. This is CLEAN. The only thing I did to this was meticulously remove any noticeable pops or crackles. I did NOT just run a generic pop filter on the entire set of audio, as that usually harms the recording in an unpleasant way. This set runs as the broadcast did, with one exception: I removed all but one Honda Shadow commercial (they were all exactly the same and played at EVERY break). All other commercials are left in place. This entire transfer is precisely tracked so you can easily skip parts you don't want to hear. There are 43 tracks total, filling 3CDs:

This set was rescued from a record store by Krambo199 with real money. The album covers are plain white (since this set was meant to be played once for broadcast and discarded) and the price sticker from the record shop is intact. Without disclosing what he paid, let me assure you that Krambo199 is being very generous in offering this to the community for free - especially since it is so rare. From what I can tell, this is the first time it has been available in full, including the "D" sides that feature cuts mastered for broadcast in regular rotation, outside the King Biscuit show. Enjoy!
