Notes: on't hurt me for putting this up ok? It has the clear echo-ambience of a hockey arena, BUT also a white-noise that's based on the volume of the recording. When I got this show, from my home town, I felt I had to improve it because i live here. The static on the mono L channel started at a lower volume than on the R side so I did away with the L ch alltogether. And I speed corrected it and added as much bass as the noise would allow. Yeah well some of you may cringe at this one still, but if you imagine your there then you can imagine that it's your own eardrums screaching-out. So you might be wise to get some earplugs first. Jimi is sooo stoned. And in his case it's stoned-happy. He starts out by doing an impersonation of Wolfman Jack saying "Does Evereybody Feel Alright?" Best to keep this enthusiastic show at a lower background volume unless your really messed-up, then anything goes. Like testing your tweeters to see if they work maybe.

No trader tape known to circulate has these. Purple Haze appears in all its soundboard glory on the "Jimi Hendrix" documentary released in 1973, and is now out on DVD. Star Spangled Banner has never to my knowledge appeared in soundboard form. An average audience tape exists for this show, and has both songs missing from the circulating soundboard. The soundcheck is missing one track, Ezy Rider. The circulating soundboard is missing this entire song. It does appear for a few seconds in the Jimi Hendrix: Berkeley video, which is now out on DVD. This tape for the 1st show was transferred from a DAT clone of a 1st gen analog tape. Any other details are unknown. The second set also circulated as a 1st gen tape, but isnt included here since the entire second set was released officially recently. The soundcheck is from a different source, and its generation is "unsure". It is believed to be either 2nd or 3rd gen, but there isnt really much certainty with that. It was the best source we could track down, quality-wise.
