Notes: Bright Lights, Big Largo Format: Compact Disc (Homemade CD-R) Label: BF 2003 Source: The Capitol Center - Largo, MD - May 1, 1980 Runnin' With The Devil 5:07 Loss of Control 3:17 Take Your Whiskey Home 4:46 Dance the Night Away 3:05 Women in Love 3:48 Jamie's Cryin' 4:12 Feel Your Love Tonight 5:03 Bright Lights, Big City 8:08 Atomic Punk 3:35 ...And The Cradle Will Rock 3:07 Light Up The Sky ~ Drum Solo 5:27 Spanish Fly ~ Cathedral 1980 6:29 Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love 5:17 Ice Cream Man 3:40 Total Time - 65:01 Notes This is a soundboard performance, but has a slight hiss throughout. This is probably an artifact of the analog recording it was transferred from. Dave talks a lot through the show! One of his best comments, or rather a story, is about a girl he met the previous night who took off her bra and panties and threw them onstage and "that was all she was wearing at the time". He then goes on to say that he "woke up next to the girl the next day" and she turned and said "DAVE" (Dave says this in a high pitched voice and Eddie mocks him with his guitar) "What is it that you like about me so much?". Dave: "I looked down at her with her big red eyes and told her, BABY, I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO FEEL YOUR LOVE TONIGHT!". Then they start playing FYLT. On the inside cover of the artwork it says "Extra special thanks to the 'girl with the big red eyes' for helping us all to remember Maryland." This is where it comes from... In the beginning of "Take Your Whiskey Home", Eddie seems to be playing with his guitar with the main riff and keeps going on until Dave finally stops his yapping and starts to abruptly sing. "...And The Cradle Will Rock" fades in at the beginning. "Ice Cream Man" is cut off at the VERY end. Overall it's an excellant recording. All insturments are well balanced. Not too much bass in it like in most other recordings. The whole band gives an energetic performance. The artwork is very well done, looks VERY professional, printed on heavy glossy stock paper. One of the best comments on the liner notes is: "Open the vaults, share the music."

Notes: Not the greatest audio -- listenable sbd, but suffers from age. Here's a little lesson for today: David Lee interrupts the start of "Take Your Whiskey Home" to remind the crowd of how cool and stoned he is; he then proceeds to stop Eddie's intro two more times to continue the "Dave Show". Once he finally starts to sing, he begins at the wrong time; thus, the lesson: David Lee Roth = Big Prick. The exam: a very long essay.

Notes: This is a remastering of the "Tora!Tora!Tora!" cd from Aces High. It is a soundboard recording that was rumored to have been sourced from a pro shot video. The Aces High version is very bass heavy with almost no highs in it at all. The original master or low gen tapes of this show would be amazing! I was able to bring out some of the highs and give this a more well rounded out sound. There is a little background noise but it is not overbearing.

Notes: "Tora Tora Largo!" bootleg. Soundboard. "Sounboard quality, but has a slight hiss throughout. Overall it's an excellant recording. All insturments are well balanced. This is an incomplete show. It is missing the first 2 songs, "Romeo Delight" and "Bottom's Up" and the encore of "Everybody Wants Some" and "You Really Got Me". For some reason only half of "And the cradle will rock..." is on the disc. It fades in during the middle of the song. Includes a killer version of "Atomic Punk". Dave is trashed and at one point stops talking and says, "I'm so fucked up, I forgot what I was going to say". All in all one of the best 1980 shows from that tour! It is possible that this recording came from a video source." FLAC from JTT.

The CD is silver and the artwork impressive. The cover based on WACF cover. A textured picture of Ed's Frankenstrat is used as a background element on the cover, disc, and backcover...very nice. Inside cover opens up to reveal a shot of Dave and shot of Ed from the 1980 tour. Undertray has a shot of Ed standing up against his speakers with his guitar. Show has been digitally remastered and sounds a little better than existing versions of this show in ciculation. There is reduced hiss and Dave sounds a tad clearer. "And the Cradle Will Rock" is mislabeled "And the Candle Will Rock". Limited edition 300 copies world wide.
