| Notes: | lineage: Complete masterful combination of 1stGen>DAT Source#1 (aka TMOQ) + 1stGen>DAT Source#2 (aka ARMS) + Source#3 (aka Cobla’s) Moby Dick to play complete, purists beware parametric EQ applied, not an archive of the masters. According to bootledz however, ARMS is "source 1" and "Cobra is source 2" . Bootledz also lists "source 3" as being the one Flying Disc used which is incomplete, starting during Over the Hills. That would seem to be the TMOQ source. If anyone out there can clarify the question about these sources please feel free. What I can say without a doubt is that this is my favorite version of this legendary performance. To me this is the definitive version of the audience recordings. The EQ job was very tastefully done, bringing out the best in all the audience sources used. These have always been very good to excellent sources but this surpasses all silver versions I've heard. The sound is just huge, really atmospheric and ballsy, with great clarity and detail . The biggest joy though for me is hearing Moby Dick in it's entirety for the first time. I always thought is strange that no one ever put together a combination of sources to make MD complete, especially since it was the "gentleman's birthday"! Every version I've heard has annoying cuts/splices and doesn't do this solo justice. It really was an outstanding solo too, filled with creative fire and played with gusto, no meandering, he just played his ass off. I think it's his best solo of the tour. There must have been a lot of inspiration in the Forum that night of his 25th Bday. I don't know who did this blend of sources but my hat goes off to them for a great job indeed. I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I do. | |||||

| Notes: | A combination of: Bonzo's Birthday Party Definitive Edition [EVSD] Bonzo's Birthday Party [Cobla] Bonzo's Birthday Party [TDOLZ].. Mainly a combination of two tracks at a time but occasionally supplemented with a third source, until the soundboard tape runs out after STH. From then on a combination of two audience recordings at different pitch and tempo. Not amusing, but surprisingly not too bad sounding considering. | |||||

| Notes: | One of the bands greatest shows of all time, the legendary "Bonzo's Birthday Party" performance. Everyone in the group is playing exceptionally well, they're firing on all cylinders, but both Jimmy and Bonham are giving just a little bit more for the crowd. Jimmy is doing some amazing guitar and solo work while playing with a broken finger, (Plant makes mention of this to the audience near the end of the show), and Bonham is probably playing better than usual because it is after all his "special day". For those that may not know, there are 3 audience recordings of this show in circulation. The tape source we've used to make this project is what I've always known to be the 2nd tape source, some collectors agree to this, and some list this source as the 3rd tape source. This recording is very good, has very little to almost no tape hiss in the channels, and sounds like it was recorded very close to the stage, but it is unfortunately incomplete. The tape isn't missing very much music, (the taper only missed "Communication Breakdown"), it's mostly missing the commentary between Plant and the audience, most likely the taper was trying to conserve as much tape as possible to record as much music as possible. For this project, we decided to do what we did with our other Inglewood project "Heavy Vibraphones", offer collectors a straight raw transfer of the tape, and a remastered version of the tape. The reason why the raw version is 3 discs worth of material, and the remastered version is just 2 discs is because the show was sent to this way. All of the show (both raw and remastered) can fit on to 2 discs, it was indeed unescessary to burn the show on to 3 discs when it can all easily fit on to 2, but I'm offering collectors the raw recording in the original format in which I recieved it. If you'd like to save yourself a disc, then please feel free to burn the raw version of the show on 2 discs, and in the same order as the remaster. We hope that whoever picks this up will enjoy both versions. What we've done to make the remaster: - We've tried to balance the instruments as much as possible. - We've tried to bring out things that were buried in the recording (cheers, clapping, commentary). - We've tried to create a sense of acoustics, and a feeling of ambience in the recording. - We've tried to reduce as much tape hiss as possible. - We've split the show on to 2 discs instead of 3. | |||||
