Notes: unknown stereo recording equipment > - > master _narrow stereo_ tape (reel?) > - > first generation Dolby B encoded TDK SA90 cassette. Played back almost thirty years later on a Nakamichi cassette deck with Dolby B encoding on > - > CDR > - > waves > - > sound program to alleviate various issues and correct speed _ no equalisation > - > a bit of digital processing magic by SIRMick in another sound program to lower fan or motor noise > - > flacs. A painstakingly remastered, VERY enjoyable first generation recording of a superb performance which is eight minutes longer, has less cuts and is a better listen than the commonly circulating John/bop9 shn89545 source (which seems to be taken from one channel, equalised, had the first two songs inverted, and was noted as "possibly a SBD" but is actually the same audience source). Other versions also circulate. An insane, "wicked pissa" of a restoration job but it finally got done. The master had very erratic channel levels but they are mostly fixed. Many dropouts were repaired and claps were lowered or removed. It is now quite lovely & consistent quality throughout except about four minutes into track six when there is about twenty seconds of tape damage, followed by about two minutes with slight high end fluctuations. There is a tape flip splice at around eleven minutes into track seven during a short drum piece. The recording can be converted to mono for a slightly more steady listen but some of the life goes right out of it. No equalisation was used with the exception of some noise reduction, which was judiciously applied by the honorable SIRMick, in order to greatly reduce a most annoying fan noise (or motor issue in the record deck) which was quite audible between songs and in very quiet passages. Hope it juices your noodles. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Still Furry Freak Brother / MindBlown / SIRMickProduction in coordination with The Mr. Natural 4-way Blotter Survivors Anonymous Association For you heads and hipsters and real cool cats.
